Well, she is out of surgery. The good news is that she did well in surgery. The bad news is that they had to remove her gallbladder and adrenal gland along with her kidney, a portion of her lung and one rib. Unfortunately, the biopsy revealed that the spot in her lung was renal cancer, so it has metasticized. We are not sure what her recovery plan will be, but hopefully Charles will be able to go see Karen in the next hour or so.
The next 48 hours are critical, so keep the prayers going. She will be on a ventilator and fairly sedated for the next two days, at least.
Thank you for your prayers! Praise the Lord that there were no serious complications during surgery. Karen needed 6 pints of blood during the surgery (correction: She only needed 3 pints of blood, although they brought 6 into surgery "just in case" she needed that much), so there was a fair amount of bleeding. Continue praying for Karen's recovery, as well as the doctors as they decide on a follow up treatment plan.

Haubers,
I was so upset when I heard the news from Melissa last night. I've been praying all day, and will continue to do so. Thank the Lord for skillful doctors! Mrs. Hauber is pretty much my 2nd mother, and I love her dearly. I'll be praying for a good recovery and wisdom as you decide on the next step. I'm thankful that the Lord is in control, even when we're not so sure what's going on. Continue to rest in his arms. Wish I could be there to show my support, but please know that I love you guys!
Always, Elizabeth
Dear Hauber Family-
We are just stunned and sobbing- and praying for all of you- for comfort, rest and healing for Karen; peace for Charles- and great wisdom for the doctors. We're also praying for you kids and the extended Hauber/Weaver families. The blog is great- we'll check often and keep praying. We don't want to impose but let us know if we can help....Lots of love and prayers to all- Matt and Sharon
from Cousin Bev
We are praying for Karen and for the whole family. May God bless each of you with His peace throughout this trying time.
From Dave & Judy,
Tell Evan we are rapidly adding to his 3000. All of Christ Church are on their knees and also the Emmaus Community. With prayer warriors like these Karen will be showered with blessings. We love you all.
I'm so glad to hear that Mrs. Hauber did well in surgery. I will continue praying for recovery, healing, and wisdom. Lots of love! God bless! *hugs*
Bev Cline is a cousin of Karen and I'm Bev's mother-in-law. Bev emailed me to ask me to pray for Karen during her surgery today--which I did. This is a very tough thing for the whole family and we are sorry that you have this pain in your midst. How wonderful it is to know that God promises His presence in the midst of the "fire" and the "floods." We pray not only for His healing for Karen but for continuing peace that can only come from trusting His love.
we love you and we're praying-the o'briens
Tell Karen her AGCI friends are fervently praying and we love her! She has given so much to others and it has been so devastating to find out about her cancer.
We have been praying for Karen, Charlie and the entire family. We had our small group praying for Karen and famiily last evening as well. Each of them are continuing to lift up Karen in prayer.

Dear Believers,
Janet Beers let us know at bible study last night of Karen's plight and that of your blessed family. I don't know you but through our Lord God we are related and I am praying for you. God is in control so I know what's best will happen. I have also asked my brother and his family in Springfield, MO to be praying for all of you and he's asked his church to include you in it's prayers as well. That goal of 3000 will surely be reached in record time. Rest in God's hands and be peaceful. He will care for all of you. Kathleen
Dear Hauber Family: Our family has been praying for your family every night. Kristina is in my Sunday School Class and we love her. Please know you are cared for greatly and prayed for fervently. God Bless. Tom, Carolyn, Samantha, Kathryn and Ashley Robbins
Hi Karen ,
We were shocked to hear of your illness and surgery. You are in our thoughts and prayers and may God grant you and your loved ones His strength and peace that surpasses all understanding as you heal.
